I’m 18 and am about 200 pounds (sadly). I’ve always had uneven breasts and I’ve learned to live with it but I’ve had enough of hiding it. I’m young and I should feel confident. I hate bra shopping and it’s always been very emotional for me to deal with this. My left breast is about a small A cup while my right one is about a full B cup. I’m wondering how much the cost would be also if it is possible to get them even and how could my areolas be relatively the same size?
The condition that you have is a congenital breast deformity. Of course, the condition was not present at birth since your breasts aren’t present at birth. However, the condition is programmed into your breast genes. Some insurance companies will cover this type of breast correction. Check with your insurance carrier if you have health insurance. The correction can be complicated and might require a lift on your right breast and possibly tissue expansion on your left breast to enlarge it. Consultation with a plastic surgeon will answer your questions and assist your insurance claim. Good luck!
I am 14 and I have a 36D breast size and am 135 lbs. I have,in the past, had minor back problems and has gotten increasingly worse. I also get teased at school for being thin and having big breasts. I have done all that i could to make my breasts smaller. But my mom doesn’t think breast reduction is a good idea and thinks i should go to therapy to learn to accept my breasts, but therapy can’t cure back pain. I think that a breast reduction will help but is it a good idea?
From your question, you sound like a very intelligent and mature 14 year old who has given some serious thought to a condition that may be causing real symptoms. I would recommend that you and your mom visit a plastic surgeon in your area for a discussion about breast reduction including risks and the chances of your breasts continuing to grow after surgery. Good luck!
Memory gel filled implants are the most natural implants available on the market. They provide a very natural result in terms of feel and appearance. That is why so many thousands of women have them placed every year. Of course, there are risks to having implants, which you should discuss with an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
hi, I need some questions answered before heading to surgeon .Since I have been considering rhinoplasty for my broken nose(deviated) ok so since my nose is a little twisted which I think has caused my left eye to look a little different in apperance than the right eye I see my left under eye skin is a little lower than the right eyes under skin .So the questions is will rhinoplasty recover withdrawn skin so the eye on the left looks a little fuller like the eye on the right.
It is impossible to tell without examining you how much your deviated nose is contributing to an eyelid asymmetry. Facial asymmetries (one side being different than the other) are the norm and are naturally occuring. The fact that you broke your nose may only be coincidental to a pre-existent natural asymmetry. Alternatively, if more than your nose was broken, i.e. the eye socket bones were also broken, then your eye asymmetry may be completely due to the injury. I would recommend consultation with an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon to identify the cause of your asymmetry and formulate a plan for correction. Good luck!
Will I have good Tummy tuck results if not at desired weight?
I am 30 yr old female 5ft 2 in. 150lbs. I have had 2 c-section and have severe seperation in my abdominal muscles. I have a scheduled abdominoplasty in 2 months and have been trying everything short of starving myself to lose at least 15 pounds to no avail. Im worried that my results wont be ideal if i dont lose the weight.
I agree with the do not starve yourself comments. Not only will you put yourself into a malnourished state and increase your risks for healing problems and infection, you may not be able to maintain the weight loss over time. You should lose the weight slowly and be sure you can maintain it for a few months before undergoing surgery. Good luck!
I’ve already had a mini tummy tuck, but still have a lot of laxity in the upper abdomen. Surgeon suggest reverse tummy tuck. If I choose this option, would I be able to opt for a full abdominoplasty if I am not happy with the results? Or there won’t be enough skin left to pull after the reverse tummy tuck? I think I would have needed a full TT to start with, but my doc insisted on a mini TT and now I am not happy with the results.
A full tummy tuck probably still remains your best option. I would only recommend a reverse abdominoplasty if you were planning work on your breasts as well. Get a second opinion.
For those of you who have not heard, a woman nearly died after undergoing breast surgery at the hands of an ophthalmologist, (that’s an EYE DOCTOR)??????? Can you believe the nerve of some doctors and the ignorance of some patients. For an ophthalmologist to be performing breast surgery, we as a medical community and this country should be ashamed. The fact that the safety of a human being was placed in jeopardy is criminal. The fact remains however that most states allow a physician to practice any form of medicine, as long as he/she is licensed in the state. I could deliver your baby and perform your brain surgery if you let me, even though I have had no formal training in either obstetrics or neurosurgery. IT IS UP TO YOU AS THE CONSUMER OF COSMETIC SURGERY TO VERIFY THE BOARD CERTIFICATION AND HOSPITAL ADMITTING CREDENTIALS OF YOUR SURGEON. There is a lot of snake oil out there and just as many salesmen trying to pitch it to you.
Think the buttock hasn’t yet gotten its due as a cherished body part? Check out the American Apparel Best Bottoms Contest. Over 1300 photo entries appear there as a testimony to the fact that a focus on the butt has taken over pop culture. Buttock augmentation has become a very popular procedure in plastic surgery. The most popular form of the procedure is performed by transfering fat from less desirable areas, such as the waist and abdomen, to the bottom. This is commonly known as the “Brazilian Butt Lift”. Requests for buttock enhancement transcend race and ethnicity (see my video with a Caucasian, Latina and African American) and are on the rise annually. Booty on America!
Yes, NYC is the mecca for plastic surgery. Many of the most prominent names in the field practice here. The seat of Cosmetic Surgery in this country is New York City, where techniques were first introduced from Europe by Plastic Surgeons traveling and studying abroad. The result, one of the greatest concentrations of board certified plastic surgeons (591) in the country. Due to population size in NYC, this does not translate to the highest per capita, however. Among those 591 doctors, you may find academicians, private practitioners and a combination of both, with practices ranging from elaborate marble and granite adorned Park Avenue offices to small, single exam room facilities. The common denominator for all of these surgeons is board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) member board. These boards ensure the competence and safety of all certified plastic surgeons in NYC. It is a leveling respect that we all hold for our fellow certified colleagues, despite the competitive atmosphere created by our great numbers. So, be sure when choosing your plastic or cosmetic surgeon that they are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, not a substitute.
What are your views on Sculptra – is it a treatment you would recommend? I am fifty, ex model, who wants boost her looks again – I’ve been looking at Sculptra and been for a consultation. I’m told the effects last for up to 5 years (I’ve read up to 3) and side effects are minimal – small bumps which can be massaged out.
How do I get the facts in the UK? and what can I legally ask the consultant to give me, ie references etc.?
Dear UK,
This is a great question. Many patients have a difficult time understanding the Sculptra concept and process. You have probably been informed as to how it works, so I will spare you that and refer you to my website or the Sculptra website for more details. You must accept upfront that Sculptra treatments are a process. It will take you more than one treatment, and possibly even 4 or 5, depending on your aging process and response to the treatments, to reach your goal. The results are progressively subtle, which makes it a popular product. Once your revolumization is completed you can expect the result to last up to two years. In the injectable filler world this is considered a long time. If you expect 3-5 years, you have been misinformed and will be disappointed. Any adverse side effects are indeed minimal and usually resolve over time. I don’t know about the legalities of reference requests in the UK. Your doctor should be able to tell you whether references can be given or not. Good luck!
